Meditation & Pranayam
Apart from a lot of different yoga classes, we also offer Meditation & Pranayam sessions here in our studio in Leicester, in which you will not be doing any physical yoga and where the entire focus is on dealing with the mind through various techniques of mindfulness (an integral part of Kundalini Yoga):
- pranayam (breathing techniques)
- mudras (hand-postures)
- arm postures or movements
- mantras (sound currents or mentally produced sounds)
- dhristi (mental and eye focus).
These sessions can be done sitting on the floor or on a chair, depending on your own flexibility and level of comfort. You can let me know what you specifically want to work on (e.g. strengthening your focus and concentration; releasing childhood anger; dealing with frustration or disappointments; anxiety issues; mental health problems; a broken heart; etc.) and the meditations will be chosen accordingly.
Duration: We have thousands of different meditations we use in the tradition of Kundalini Yoga. A meditation & pranayam session can last between 30 and 90 minutes, and can consist of different shorter meditations (using a variety of techniques) or of one long meditation.
