Here you can find all malas that are currently ready and can immediately be posted out – they will have the phrase ‘Ready to be sent’ in their description.

I make 108, 54 or 27 bead malas (I also make bespoke malas of 99 or 33 beads for Muslim customers), with 6mm, 8mm or 10mm beads. There is a separate category on this shop where you can find the hundreds of previous designs of the hand-knotted malas I have made and sold over the past 5 years, and which you can re-order to be made, or where you can find ideas for your own bespoke order.

I only use high quality semi-precious stones, and because of ethical reasons I don’t use silk thread, only cotton embroidery thread. All malas come in a protective velvet pouch.

I often have people ask me what the difference is between 6mm, 8mm and 10mm beads for a mala – and how do I choose which bead size I want?
Here is an explanation on where a mala of each bead size hangs on the torso when worn (for a person of my height, i.e. around 1.70m):
– A 6mm 📿 will hang with the Guru Bead on or just below the heart center.
– An 8mm 📿 will hang with the Guru Bead a little below the diaphragm, with the tassel reaching the belly button.
– A 10mm 📿 will hang the entire length of the torso, with the Guru Bead on the lower abdomen, below the belly button, and the tassel reaching to the pubic bone.
Other differences are of course the weight of the mala, and the ease with which you move the beads through the fingers. Bigger beads are for most people easier to move through their fingers during meditation, unless you have smaller hands of course.
