27 bead 8mm Red Flower Jasper Mala. Needs to be made again first.

Available on back-order

Description

Needs to be made again first.

Inner diameter 22cm.

Normally I try to select only perfectly round beads without any imperfections for all of the hundreds of malas I’ve made over the years. That contributes to their price setting. But that means I’ve got thousands of imperfect beads at home.
I am now making some malas that also contain beads with some imperfections – not fully round beads, some marks on the beads or some flattening on a part of the bead. And these malas will be priced lower and marked ‘lower grade’ in the heading.

Jasper (general)

The word “jasper” is derived from the Greek word iaspi meaning “spotted stone,” related to the Hebrew jashpeh and the ancient Assyrian word ashpu. Jaspers were worn by Egyptian priests in amulets covered with inscriptions from their Book of the Dead and wrapped up with mummies for protection in the afterlife. The Minoans of Crete carved seals for the palace of Knossos of jasper. Jasper was the 12th stone in the breastplate of the Hebrew High Priest, and is said to be the foundation stone of New Jerusalem.

Jaspers have been revered by ancient peoples and civilizations throughout the world as sacred and powerful stones of protection, for both the physical and spiritual realm. They were known as the “rain bringers” (some Native American tribes e.g. used jasper to dowse for water and to call rain) and nurturers, healers of the spirit and stones of courage and wisdom. The name can be traced back in Arabic, Persian, Hebrew, Assyrian, Greek and Latin, and the virtues of Jaspers have been extolled throughout the ages by the most noted physicians, magicians, poets, scientists, lapidaries and scholars.

Jasper gemstones are members of the quartz family. All Jaspers connect to the Earth and may be placed on the Base Chakra to stabilize and energize the physical body. Laying it over each chakra in turn, will cleanse, boost and realign the chakras and aura, balancing yin and yang energies as well as aligning the physical, emotional and mental bodies with the etheric realm.
