Blue Imperial / Sea Sediment Jasper

Sea Sediment Jasper, also known as Blue Imperial Jasper, is a gemstone of stability. It is said to be a powerful protection against things that are not good for you and it eases emotional stresses, making it a wonderful gemstone to wear on yourself. It comes in blue, green, pink and purple varieties.

The blue variety of Sea Sediment Jasper are wonderful stones for helping one find inner peace, clarity, love and compassion, helping with the alignment of the physical and “Light” bodies. It is an excellent stone for emotional healing.

Jaspers have been revered by ancient peoples and civilizations throughout the world as sacred and powerful stones of protection, for both the physical and spiritual realm. They were known as the “rain bringers” and nurturers, healers of the spirit and stones of courage and wisdom. The name can be traced back in Arabic, Persian, Hebrew, Assyrian, Greek and Latin, and the virtues of Jaspers have been extolled throughout the ages by the most noted physicians, magicians, poets, scientists, lapidaries and scholars.

All Jaspers connect to the Earth and may be placed on the Base Chakra to stabilize and energize the physical body. Laying it over each chakra in turn, will cleanse, boost and realign the chakras and aura, balancing yin and yang energies as well as aligning the physical, emotional and mental bodies with the etheric realm.

An elemental Earth stone, Jasper’s frequency is slow and constant, aligned with the electromagnetic energies of the planet. It enables one to be more present in the physical body and conscious of Nature and one’s surroundings. It encourages one to celebrate moments of isolation to absorb, reflect, and connect with these energies and enkindles an awareness of the spiritual connection we hold with all living things.

Known as the “Supreme Nurturer,” Jasper is a stone of grounding and stability, providing comfort and security, strength and healing. Its presence balances the aura to a level of wholeness and peace, and acts as a reminder that one is not here on the physical plane simply for oneself, but to bring joy and substance to others. It holds and supports during times of stress, bringing a sense of completeness and tranquility. It is often used to help with dream recall and shamanic journeying.

Historically, Jasper is traceable to all ancient peoples and civilizations. Worn by shamans, priests and kings, it was considered sacred and a powerful protection stone, for both the physical world and in the spiritual realm. Amulets of Jasper were carved by the Egyptians with symbols and inscriptions from the Book of the Dead and buried with mummified remains for safe passage in the after life. It was highly utilized in many cultures for engraving cylinder seals, signet rings, and special talismans depicting astrological and religious images. It was the twelfth stone in the Breastplate of the Jewish High Priest, and the apostle Peter is supposed to have derived his name from Jasper, the rock upon which Christ would build his church. To the medieval world and the Native Americans, Jasper was “the rain bringer” and highly regarded as a stone for dowsing.

Jasper is colored by oxides of iron and known for its deep earthy tones of red, yellow, brown and green, sometimes in shades of blue or purple, and displays wonderful contrasts in its banding, inclusions, “pictures,” and small circular patterns. There is a wide variety of Jaspers, characterized by color, form, and similarities to places or animals found in nature. Many are named for the regions where they are mined; others are named by those who discovered them. Multi-colored Jasper carries the properties of its dominant color, or colors, while still drawing energies from its subtle hues.

Blue Sea Sediment Jasper, aka Blue Imperial Jasper, comes in different shades of blue. Like all other Jaspers it is regarded for its supreme nurturing eminence. This legendary eminence provides a firm ground for the person who carries or wears it to sustain her/his abilities during times of stress. It conveys sensations of tranquility and wholeness.

Linked with nobility of spirit and purpose, Blue Imperial Jasper imparts the courage to speak out against injustice and to risk unpopularity to defend the vulnerable. It is the perfect anti-stress stone for those in charge of others’ well-being, and for older children and teenagers to carry to resist being led into unwise behavior or risky situations.

Imperial Jasper helps one to persevere and see things through to the end, as well as giving one the imagination and creativity to manifest one’s ideas. It also helps to provide resolution to conflicts.

All Jaspers support the the circulatory and digestive systems and balance the minerals in the body. Blue Imperial Jasper’s restorative properties make this stone a treasure for treating physical illness, as it is thought to restore the deteriorated tissues of the inner organs. It helps specifically for kidneys, liver, gall bladder and abdominal problems. It helps to stop wounds from bleeding and helps nosebleeds.

Howlite

Howlite is one of the “attunement stones” which link the user to higher spiritual consciousness. Howlite opens and prepares the mind to receive the energies and wisdom of attunements.

Howlite is a lovely stone to use when needing to reduce anxiety, tensions and stress. Howlite can be used to facilitate awareness, encourage emotional expression and assist in the elimination of pain, stress and/or rage.

Howlite will calm and soothe the emotions, slow the overactive mind and help to achieve a deep and restful sleep, and is often used to help with and overcome insomnia. Howlite can help to access/retrieve wisdom during the dream state and bring it back into consciousness upon waking.

Howlite brings mental awareness, both to current and past-life issues, and facilitates a calm communication of these issues. Keep a piece of Howlite in your pocket to absorb anger and negative energy. Meditating with Howlite can help one to connect with the higher realms, allowing for greater communication of higher frequencies into the higher chakras, to be assimilated by the unconscious mind, which helps one to slowly remove the veils blocking truth. Howlite strengthens positive character traits, removing selfishness, rude behaviour, and greed.

Physically, Howlite can help with the absorption of calcium into the bones and teeth, and can balance the emotions. Howlite also assists in relaxing and releasing muscular tension.
